Noooooooooooooo no me sale.. mira te diré mi problema a ver si me peudes ayudar quité la pagina de inicio.. pero no puedo quitarla la quite de las pestañas pero ahora me sale la leyenda:
sentimos – No hay nada aquí
Al parecer el dueño de este Blog no ha escrito nada todavía
en lectura puse la pagina de “prueba” pero nada de nada no se quita , me puedes ayudar?

yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ya pude, lo que nos pasa a casi todos los mortales “no lei completo el post y las instrucciones”.. ya quedó gracias!
Una posibilidad que funciona bien y que para mí completa esta discusión es seguir esta secuencia:
1º Crear nueva página para usar como Home o Inicio.
2º Hacer las opciones de lectura como se dice aquí.
3º Convertir la página en “Draft” o “Borrador”. De ese modo desaparece con su nombre de la barra de navegación pero permanece como Index. O sea, como “Inicio”, y queda fija.

Me ha dado buen resultado. El problema es que no puedo quitar del menú el “inicio” que trae por defecto wordpress. Por cierto el .htaccess está en www/wordpress . Al menos en el mío
Gracias por la información. A mí lo que me ocurre es que al elegir la página estática para que salga como página de inicio, lo hace bien, pero me desaparece del menú superior la palabra inicio. ¿Como puedo hacer para que no desaparezca?
Uso WordPress 3.1 con el tema Mystique.
